Michael Mark Moore, born on October 7th, 1973, is a multifaceted American artist and professional known to the world of Hip Hop as Gutta Nig@##, a moniker he proudly adopted as part of the influential Cruddy Click. Deeply rooted in the vibrant East Coast sound, Moore has emerged as a significant figure in the music industry, particularly as one-half of the newly formed supergroup, the Code Keepers, which is currently generating buzz in his hometown of East Orange, New Jersey, affectionately referred to as Ill-Town. Recently, he has chosen to simplify his stage name to Mike Moore, a nod to his real name that reflects his evolution as an artist.

My Story

Moore first burst onto the Hip Hop scene in 1995, making an indelible mark as a featured artist on Naughty by Nature’s Grammy Award-winning album, *Poverty’s Paradise*. His standout performance on the thunderous crew cut titled "Klick Kow Kick Kow" showcased his lyrical prowess and undeniable charisma. His verse was celebrated as one of the highlights of the track, and he became known for his electrifying energy and sharp wordplay. The final verse of the song, where he engaged in a fierce lyrical exchange with his Cruddy Click partner in rhyme, Face Finsta, remains legendary among Hip Hop aficionados. With lines like “I’ll take your tongue and make you stop talking!” and “My shit is on with more form than Janet with her panties on!!!”, Moore established himself as a force to be reckoned with in the rap game.

 

In the years that followed, Moore continued to develop his craft and reputation. In 2003, just before his incarceration, he released a series of mixtapes titled *Jail, Death, or Millions Pt. 1 and 2*. These projects created a significant buzz in the streets, fueling anticipation for a full-length album that fans were eager to hear. Selling over 100,000 copies, the mixtapes demonstrated his ability to connect with listeners on a profound level. The single "Brothers," featuring fellow artists O-Coop and Shut, resonated deeply with his audience, while the follow-up hit "Kings of the Underworld" became an anthem that echoed from every hustler's ride throughout Jersey.

 

After a challenging period, Moore has made a triumphant return to the Hip Hop and entertainment world in 2024 with a groundbreaking project titled *The Code Keepers*. This ambitious endeavor includes an array of fresh, cutting-edge music, a unique merchandise line, and his debut masterwork novel, aptly named *The Code Keepers*. The project features a stellar lineup of collaborators, including his partner Don ‘Dy Dy,’ Treach from Naughty by Nature, the Rottin Razkals, Fince from Cruddy Click, Duganz, Dujea, Beiko Black from Gutta Ratz, The Druid, and many others. This collaborative effort not only showcases his artistic versatility but also highlights the strength of community and collaboration within the Hip Hop genre.

 

Beyond his accomplishments as a musician and author, Mike Moore possesses a rich academic background that informs his work in the community. He holds a master's degree in social work from Rutgers University, along with his Licensed Social Worker (LSW) and Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC) credentials. As a licensed therapist, he has dedicated himself to improving the lives of others through his agency, MMM Counselor, located in New Jersey. This organization focuses on substance use and mental health, providing essential support and resources to those in need. Moore’s dual career as an artist and therapist reflects his commitment to uplifting his community, addressing the struggles many face, and using his platform to foster healing and understanding.

 

His journey has not been without its challenges. The experiences he has faced, both in the music industry and in his personal life, have shaped him into the artist and advocate he is today.
